I'm almost done training at my new job which means I'm balancing both aspects of that job, plus working at the high school, occasionally at Old Navy on the weekends, and tutoring one student on my own. This week I'm back up to 45 hours of work total, which isn't too bad overall.
I'm enjoying the way the tutoring center itself is run and how I work with students. It is definitely a bit of a learning curve and will take a little while to get used to how some of the details work but I'm excited to get into it more. I'm feeling confident with the teaching part of it and I think the rest of it will work itself out.
Balancing life is going to be another learning curve. Since my schedule will change each week it is less steady than what I've had for the past year. It will teach me flexibility and remind me of the importance of taking time for myself whenever I can get it. Some nights I will be working until 8, which means I won't be getting home until 8:30ish which isn't horrible but when I'm trying to be in bed by 10 it doesn't leave a lot of time to relax, or get anything done at home. Not to mention the fact that mixing in a social life is going to be interesting.
I was able to get some fun in this weekend! Girls night was Saturday and then the Super Bowl on Sunday! I made a chocolate swirl cheesecake for the super bowl party which seemed to go over well. It was so awesome to just relax and watch the game with friends! It was a busy weekend with work and homework, so to spend a few hours doing nothing but relaxing was a plus!
